Burgundy Rule invoice template

A free classic invoice design in red, set in Source Serif. Everything below is the real document, drawn by the same code that prints yours: swap in your logo, your colour and your details and send it as a PDF.

Sample figures. Harbour & Reed is not a real company.

How Burgundy Rule is put together

The frame
No chrome at all. The page is white to its edges and the structure comes from the type alone.
The title
The title sits on a rule, which separates it from the addresses below.
The items
Every cell ruled, in the manner of a printed ledger.
The total
The balance due sits in a solid panel, which is the last and heaviest thing on the page.
The typeface
Source Serif. Printed, traditional. Swap it for any of the other four without touching the layout.

What this design is for

No frame at all, a rule under the title and the total boxed off. Burgundy on white reads as a solicitor or a consultancy rather than a shop.

What you can change

  • Your logo, at any of 5 printed sizes
  • The accent colour, which defaults to red
  • The typeface, from five, currently Source Serif
  • The heading, so a proforma can say so
  • Tax label and rate, payment terms and bank details
